What We Do
We connect current state school pupils with former state school pupils who have now entered the world of work.
Choosing a path after school can be difficult. You may have questions that you’re struggling to find answers to. Questions like:
Which career paths should I be considering given my skills and interests?
What qualifications do I need to pursue my chosen career path?
Are there other steps I could be taking to improve my prospects?
I didn’t get the grades I was hoping for. What are my options?
How can I afford university?
I want to attend university outside of Scotland. How do I go about doing that?
The Scottish State School Mentoring Network exists to help you find answers to these and other questions.
We do it by putting you in touch with someone who has already made the journey from school to work: someone who once stood in your shoes, and faced the very questions you now face, and who now has the experience and knowledge to help guide you.
Whatever your field of interest — whether it’s law, medicine, dentistry, business, engineering, journalism, accounting, teaching, drama, sport, music, art, or none of the above — we’re confident we can find someone who will be able to help you.
